Today is dedicated to discovering the cultural treasures of the Kathmandu Valley. Our journey begins at Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple, a majestic Buddhist stupa perched on a hilltop with breathtaking panoramic views of Kathmandu.
Next, we explore Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage site filled with ancient palaces, temples, and intricate woodwork that tell the city’s royal history. After a delightful lunch, we continue to Pashupatinath Temple, Nepal’s most sacred Hindu site, where you may encounter the iconic Sadhus (holy men).
For those who wish, a visit to the riverside Ghats offers a profound and authentic insight into traditional Hindu funeral rites. We then return to Boudhanath Stupa to witness its enchanting evening ritual, as pilgrims, monks, and locals circle the stupa in a timeless act of devotion.
Our Himalayan adventure truly begins today! We board a private jeep for a scenic drive through the Lower Solukhumbu region, leaving behind the bustle of Kathmandu. The trail winds through charming mountain villages such as Chyangba and Tapting, where we pause for a home-cooked lunch made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients. In the afternoon, we follow a gradual uphill path leading to the ridge-top settlement of Jhapre. As we gain altitude, the landscape opens into expansive high-altitude pastures, where we may encounter grazing yaks. Striking Mani walls, adorned with ancient Buddhist prayers, line the path, leading us toward Pikey Peak Base Camp — our gateway to one of the most stunning viewpoints in the Solukhumbu region.

This is the highlight of our adventure! We rise before dawn for the final ascent to the summit of Pikey Peak (4,067 m). As the first rays of sunlight break over the Himalayas, we are rewarded with an unforgettable 360° panorama — stretching from the Annapurna Range in the west to Kanchenjunga in the east. Along the horizon, the world’s highest giants stand proudly: Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Manaslu.
After soaking in this extraordinary moment and capturing plenty of photos, we descend to Pikey Peak Base Camp for a hearty breakfast. We then continue our trek along scenic ridgelines, making our way to the peaceful settlement of Jasmane Bhanjyang (3,549 m), where we will rest for the night.

We embark on a gentle 3-hour hike through the serene Mopung Valley, surrounded by rolling hills and Himalayan views, to reach the Thuptenchholing Monastery—one of the most important Tibetan Buddhist centers in the Solu region. Upon arrival, you’ll have the rare opportunity to witness or join the daily Puja (prayer ceremony), immersing yourself in the monastery’s spiritual atmosphere. We will spend the night at the monastery’s guesthouse, enjoying a wholesome vegetarian meal alongside the resident monks, and experiencing their peaceful, meditative way of life.
