Detail Itinerary

Namaste and welcome to Nepal! Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, our representative will greet you and provide a private airport transfer to your hotel in Boudhanath, one of Kathmandu’s most spiritual districts.

Boudhanath is the heart of the city’s Tibetan community and home to the iconic Boudhanath Stupa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the largest stupas in Asia. This peaceful location is the perfect starting point for your Nepal trekking itinerary.

Settle into your hotel, soak in the serene atmosphere, and enjoy a delicious welcome dinner before resting up for your upcoming Himalayan adventure.

After a hearty breakfast in Kathmandu, we set off on a scenic drive to Pokhara (822m), the charming lakeside city and the official starting point of the Mardi Himal Trek. The journey takes around 6–7 hours, following the winding roads along the Trishuli and Marsyangdi rivers, with stunning views of terraced hillsides, traditional villages, and the first glimpses of the mighty Annapurna and Manaslu ranges.

Pokhara, often called the “Gateway to the Annapurnas”, is a vibrant city famous for its tranquil Phewa Lake, buzzing lakeside atmosphere, and spectacular mountain backdrop. In the evening, you are free to explore the lakeside or relax before the trek begins.

  • Transport: Tourist bus or private vehicle (6–7 hours)

After breakfast in Pokhara, we take a short scenic drive (about 1 hour) to Kande (1,770m), the official starting point of the Mardi Himal Trek. From here, the trail ascends gently through terraced farmland, charming Gurung villages, and dense rhododendron and oak forests, offering the first immersive experience of the Himalayan landscape.

As we gradually climb higher, we enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding hills and valleys before reaching Deurali (2,100m), a small settlement perched on a ridge with excellent views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail).

  • Trekking Time: 4–5 hours

  • Accommodation: Teahouse/Lodge

After breakfast, we leave Deurali and follow a peaceful trail that leads us deeper into the untouched Himalayan forests. The path winds through dense oak, rhododendron, and maple trees, creating a tranquil setting filled with the sounds of chirping birds and rustling leaves.

This day’s trek is less about mountain views and more about immersing yourself in nature’s serenity. The shaded forests keep the temperature pleasant, making the walk enjoyable. By afternoon, we arrive at Forest Camp (2,600m), a quiet resting place nestled in the heart of the jungle, where several lodges welcome trekkers.

  • Trekking Time: 5–6 hours

  • Accommodation: Teahouse/Lodge

Leaving Forest Camp, we continue ascending along a peaceful trail through dense rhododendron and oak forests. As we gradually gain altitude, the vegetation begins to thin out, and the atmosphere becomes more alpine.

By the time we reach Low Camp (2,970m), the scenery changes dramatically. Here, we are rewarded with the first clear views of Mount Machapuchare (Fishtail), one of Nepal’s most iconic peaks, revered for its unique shape and spiritual significance. The panoramic beauty makes Low Camp a memorable stop on the Mardi Himal trek.

  • Trekking Time: 4–5 hours

  • Accommodation: Teahouse/Lodge

Today’s trek is one of the highlights of the Mardi Himal trek. Leaving Low Camp, the trail gradually ascends and the dense forest gives way to alpine meadows with breathtaking open landscapes.

As we climb higher, we are rewarded with panoramic views of Mardi Himal, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and the iconic Machapuchare (Fishtail). The higher elevation and dramatic scenery create a truly spectacular atmosphere, making High Camp an unforgettable stop on this journey.

  • Trekking Time: 4–5 hours

Today marks the highlight of the Mardi Himal trek. We start early in the morning, following a narrow ridge that gradually ascends toward Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500m).

As the sun rises, we are rewarded with breathtaking 360° views of the Annapurna Range, including Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machapuchare (Fishtail), and Mardi Himal itself. The golden light on the snow peaks creates a truly magical moment.

After spending memorable time at the base camp, capturing photos and enjoying the Himalayan atmosphere, we descend back to High Camp for the night.

  • Trekking Time: 6–7 hours (round trip)

Today we leave the high alpine landscapes and descend via an alternative route to Siding Village (1,750m). The trail passes through dense forests, terraced fields, and traditional Gurung settlements, offering a different perspective from the ascent.

This part of the Mardi Himal Trek is special because it introduces trekkers to the authentic rural lifestyle of Nepal, far away from the busier trekking routes. At Siding, a warm welcome awaits in a cozy teahouse or family-run lodge.
