Lumbini is one of the holiest pilgrimages in Nepal where Siddhartha Gautam was born. He is now known as the pioneer of Buddhism and is subtitled as the light of Asia. Thus, for those who practice Buddhism, it is the most sacred place to visit in their lifetime.
There are three more destinations that are very important for Buddhists. However, those destinations (Bodhgaya, Saranath, and Kushinagar) are located in India. Thus, pilgrims who wish to visit all these places have to make their journey throughout Nepal and India.
Nevertheless, Lumbini is a great place to feel at ease. There are so many historical places in Lumbini that consist of important events that occurred in the lifetime of Lord Buddha. There is the Mayadevi temple, which marks the birthplace of Lord Budhhha.
Likewise, there is Kapilvastu, the palace of King Suddhodhan, and Ramagrama Stupa, the only stupa that claims to have the relics of Lord Buddha in it. Besides that, there are plenty of monasteries supported by different countries. Thus, they kind of give their own architectural vibes. Basically, a day is not enough to even fully explore these monasteries.
