A heritage tour will give you a tour of the lower valleys of Terai, the Kathmandu valley, and then, the uplands of Nepal. Because you will be exploring each UNESCO World Heritage Site of Nepal on this tour.
There are 10 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Nepal. Seven out of them are located in the Kathmandu valley. The other three include the Chitwan National Park, Sagarmatha National Park, and Lumbini.
All of these heritage sites have their own historical, and cultural, if not, have natural significance. You will be visiting all the heritage sites, if possible. While doing a heritage tour, most people do not go to the Sargarmatha National Park out.
Because Sagarmāthā National Park is a national park in the Himalayas of eastern Nepal that is dominated by Mount Everest. It encompasses an area of 1,148 km² in the Solukhumbu District and ranges in elevation from 2,845 to 8,848 m at the summit of Mount Everest.

As per your flight schedule, we will come and pick you off from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. We will directly drop you off at the hotel where you will be staying for a few days. If you have enough time and energy, then, we can visit the Thamel area in the evening. We will do a briefing on the tour while having dinner.
Today, we will pick you up at the hotel and go to Budhanilkantha. While going there, we will tell you about the Sanatan religion, which is massively practiced in Nepal. With such a briefing, you will be able to understand the belief and aspects of the Nepalese people.
After the sightseeing at Budanilkantha, we will go back to the hotel for breakfast and then, move towards the Swyambhunath. After that, we will go to Patan. There are a ton of places to visit at Patan including the Patan Durbar Square, the Golden temple, the Mahabauddha temple, the Kumbheshwor temple, and many more vihars. You will return to the hotel after sightseeing. You will spend another night in Kathmandu.
If you understand the belief and value of Sanatan Dharma, then, you will know why Pashupatinath is considered the greatest temple in Nepal. People from all around the nation and India comes to this temple to get the darshan of Pashupatinath.
After that, we will go to visit another Durbar Square in the Kathmandu Valley. There are three major durbar squares in the valley. You will visit one later. Unlike in Patan, you will find a different architecture in this durbar area. You can also encounter the living goddess of Nepal, Kumari, if lucky. And, this site concludes the day’s sightseeing. You will then return to the hotel for a night’s stay.
Today, we will head to another heritage site that is quite far from the Kathmandu valley. You will have to take a 5-6 hour long bus ride to reach Sauraha. After reaching Sauraha, you will take some rest and visit the Elephant breeding center. Then, you will go to the bank of the Rapti river to witness the beautiful flatland sunset, if the weather is favorable.
From there, you will go to Tharu Cultural Program and come back to the hotel for a night’s stay.
Today, you will explore the Tharu village of Sauraha along with the Tharu museum. You can also take part in canoeing if the weather gives you a go. Then, you will go on a jungle safari via jeep. A forest guide will be with you so you will get a good chance of spotting animals and birds. You will be doing a jungle safari in the Chitwan National Park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
You will return to the hotel for a night’s stay.
Lumbini is another UNESCO World Heritage Site that lies in the terai region of Nepal. Thus, we will go to Lumbini on this day. While going to the Lumbini, we will stop at Ramagrama stupa, which claims to have the relics of Gautam Budhha in it. After reaching Lumbini, you will visit the Mayadevi temple. After spending some time, you will go to the hotel for a night’s stay.
On this day, you will explore several places in Lumbini. It includes Kudan, where Gautam Buddha had said to have stayed three times out of four times when he returned to Lumbini. With that, you will be visiting Tilaurakot (remains of Kapilvastu) and the Lumbini Monastic zone. You will spend another night at Lumbini.
This is gonna be a long bus ride day. Because it will take approximately 8-9 hours to reach Kathmandu from Lumbini. (If you can sleep comfortably on a night bus, then you can choose to ride one so that you won’t waste a day on the bus.) You will be transferred to Bhaktapur this day and you will spend your night at Bhaktapur.
A night stay at Bhaktapur will make it easier to do sightseeing at Bhaktapur. There are 2 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Bhaktapur and you are going to visit both of them on this very same day. First, you will visit Changu Narayan Temple and the Bhaktapur Nagara. You will find this city slightly different than the other two that you visited before going to Chitwan.
After sightseeing at Bhaktapur, you will stay at Bhaktapur for another night’s stay.
You can skip this natural heritage site if you are not a fan of walking and can have problems in high altitudes. Because Sagarmath National Park lies in the Everest Region of Nepal including Mount Everest in its area. Although you are not going to go explore Everest itself, you will at least go to Namche Bazaar on this section of the trip.
Nevertheless, you will be taking a flight to Lukla and walking for around 2 hours to reach Phakding. You will be spending your night at Phakding.
It will take approximately 3 hours to reach Namche from Phakding. Thus, you will take a slow walk and after reaching Namche take a troll around to see the Himalayan lifestyle and culture. You will be spending your night at Namche Bazaar, the gateway to all the Everest region’s trekkings and Expeditions.
Well, Namche Bazaar is a popular town situated in the Khumbu region of Nepal. You can do a lot of things while staying in Namche. You can do a little day hike, explore Buddhist monasteries, Explore local markets, and do some cultural tours. You will know a lot about Sherpa habitant, their lifestyle, culture, and cuisines. You will spend one night at Namche.
Today, you will do a downhill hike up to Lukla and spend a night over there. So that you can take an early flight from Lukla to Kathmandu.
Today you will take an early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. It is a 35-minute long flight. Thus, you will have an entire day to explore Kathmandu city. But, before that, you will go and check in at the hotel. Then, you will be going to Baudhanath Stupa on this day. Because this is the only heritage site that you have not visited yet. After visiting the stupa and nearby monasteries, you will return to the hotel.
As per your flight schedule, we will drop you off at the airport and see you off.
